Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation often. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. The ability which helped her obtain her first role as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. In Miami, she was a producer for television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next assignment was an Sports Reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. Her duties as an anchor for weather or sports were often demanded. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on additional duties. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. She was anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also played the role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd, 1984 in Mexico City. She's more mature than her younger sister. The family moved to Miami following the move out of Mexico to the US. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. On a family vacation in Ohio, the younger Collins was able to take a job with her older sister. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she wanted her future to look like, traveled to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school suited her. It turned out that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. After completing her high school education she enrolled in the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and director of WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
